The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Yemen has expressed concern over Iraqi coordinates and maps that it says include submerged areas adjacent to the divided zone between Saudi Arabia and Kuwait, where both countries share ownership of natural resources.
In a statement, the ministry said the Iraqi maps involve encroachment on submerged parts bordering the Saudi–Kuwaiti divided zone, stressing the sensitivity of maritime boundaries and shared resource areas.
The ministry reaffirmed the importance of adhering to the principles and rules of international law, emphasizing respect for the sovereignty of states and their internationally recognized borders.
It underscored the need for all parties to act in accordance with established legal frameworks governing maritime demarcation and shared resources, in order to safeguard regional stability and uphold international norms
